Well, Miami-Dade County could soon begin reopening, that's according to a target date of May 18th from Mayor Carlos Gimenez. On a Facebook post he said, "We need to get the economy going again and do it as safely as possible."
His announcement comes as relief to many South Floridians who are out of jobs and work within the hospitality industry. However, he has yet to announce which specific businesses will reopen and what additional restrictions will apply. He did say that beaches, nightclubs and movie theaters will not be included in the phase one of this reopening.
Restaurants that have opened in other parts of the state have a 25% maximum occupancy and still have to follow social distancing rules.
It will be interesting to see what happens in South Florida, considering we still have 50% of the coronavirus cases. Will you be dining at restaurants when they open? Why or why not?
