Allergy Season Is Here! Know The Difference Between Allergies & COVID-19

Since the CDC began alerting of possible COVID-19 symptoms, notably, some Coronavirus symptoms can be difficult to differentiate from the flu and even allergies. Have you ever coughed or sneezed in a public place amid the pandemic? Not knowing the symptoms can raise red flags big time!

With springtime allergies in full effect, Dr. Lakiea Wight, who practices Allergy and Clinical Immunology at Brigham Women’s Hospital in Boston, says self-diagnosing could lead to a misdiagnosis.

Dr. Wright added, the differences between allergies and the coronavirus are noticeable. Allergies usually cause a runny, stuff nose, watery-itchy eyes, body aches or chills. Covid-19 symptoms are more described as un-asthma related shortness of breath.
