Mayor Carlos A. Gimenez Closes Miami Gyms & Restaurants Amid COVID-19 Surge

Hopefully you didn't get too used to the gym, it's going away again starting Wednesday.

Following a surge in COVID-19 cases across South Florida, Miami-Dade County Mayor Carlos A. Gimenez has decided to shut down fitness centers and also halt the dine-in option for restaurants. In the new statement released Monday July 6, the Mayor pleads to the 2.8 million residents of our area "to stop the spread so that we can get back to opening our economy."

While party venues and short-term rentals will also be discontinued for the time being, beaches will remain open, as well as barbershops... "for now."
