Judge Hears Motion To Dismiss Union Lawsuit Against School Reopening Order

A Leon County judge is hearing arguments this morning from the state asking to dismiss the Florida Education Association's lawsuit against the emergency order requiring schools to reopen. Attorney David Wells says the suit unjustly asks the court to act as the governor and superintendent of every public schools. But union attorney Ron Meyer says the order violates the state constitution, guaranteeing the right to a safe and secure public education. Time is of the essence, some schools have already started and others like Broward are set to start next week.
