Kanye West Vows To Get Taylor Swift's Master Recordings Back

As the music industry shifts more and more towards independent production and distribution in this social media era, it's become clearer to many more artists what Taylor Swift knew many years ago – your value is in owning your master recordings.

When her original label, Big Machine Records, went on sale, her former manager Scooter Braun outbid the "Style" singer and is now the sole owner of all her music spanning from self-titled debut all the way to 2017's Reputation. This means any time you stream or purchase an old Taylor song, the profit goes in his pocket!

One artist who is waking up to these industry realizations is Kanye West who recently has been tweeting up a storm in regards to owning his own catalogue. Well, he made a big claim this past weekend – in all caps, the "Jesus Walks" rapper vowed to get Taylor Swift's masters back from Scooter Braun, citing him as a close friend:

Do you think this is a business move, a moment to redeem himself for that infamous MTV VMAs moment, or just the kind-hearted Christian thing to do for his fellow industry artist...?
