Miami-Dade's MAST Academy Closes Following 2 More Student COVID-19 Cases

Two new cases of COVID-19 hit close to home for the students who opted to physically show up to learn at MAST Academy in Key Biscayne. The home of the makos had to close down Monday due to these new positive tests, and Miami-Dade County Public Schools officials ordered for the facility to be thoroughly sanitized. Of the 800 students who returned to brick-and-mortar style learning just last week, about 200 now are forced to stay home again since they are presumed to have come in contact with the two students who were confirmed positive for coronavirus.

Though the closure only lasted one day, students weren't so happy about MAST Academy opening back up once more.

According to the dashboard that tracks positive COVID-19 cases, there are currently 12 students who've returned to class with the virus. Makes you wonder if opening schools was such really a good idea after all... hmm.......
