American Airlines has announced its new destination routes flying out of MIA and two of them are quite rare; non-stop to Tel Aviv, Israel and for the first time ever Suriname in South America. More Latin American routes will begin in April, as well as service to Oregon, Arkansas, Maine, and more. Miami-Dade Mayor Daniella Levine Cava elaborated:

“This is about jobs. 275,000 local jobs. Miami International Airport remains our most important pillar of our economy. As more businesses relocate to Miami, we know that this is an important attractant for them. We are here to celebrate the important, positive news for our economy as we emerge from the pandemic."
