Normani Set To Perform At MTV VMAs, Replaces Lorde's Slot

Normani fans, this is the great news you've been waiting for!

It seems Lorde had a COVID-19 safety guidelines issue fiddle with her performance and she wasn't willing to budge so MTV replaced her with former Fifth Harmony singer Normani!

Lorde chimed in on a newsletter to fans:

"I saw some people were very concerned about me pulling out of the VMAs, you’re so sweet, I’m totally fine! It’s just that we were planning this insanely amazing many-bodied intimate dance performance, not fully understanding the (very necessary!) safety protocols that are in place, and the masking and distancing just meant it wasn’t gonna be what I dreamed, and you know I can’t make something less than outstanding for you guys. I hope you understand. There will be many more TV performances, don’t you worry."

It appears all the #LetNormaniPerform tweets paid off because the award show has officially announced the "Wild Side" singer as part of the line-up! Not to mention Normani is also nominated for Song Of The Summer.

The 2021 MTV Video Music Awards will air this Sunday, the 12th.
