The whale was discovered along a stretch of beach just south of the Sunglow Fishing Pier Monday.

The Hubbs-SeaWorld Research Institute says the whale was suffering from multiple shark wounds. After attempts to save its life, the whale was euthanized and transported to a laboratory where a full necropsy would be performed.

Marine wildlife experts say if you encounter a beached animal, don't touch it or try to push it back into the water, but contact the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission.
