Teacher arrested after asking why superintendent got a raise

This should never be okay! On Monday night, English Language Arts teacher Deyshia Hargrave (above) was arrested for asking salary related questions during a school board meeting's public comment segment. Hargrave, who teaches at Rene Rost Middle School in the Vermilion Parish school system, was handcuff and removed after the board president Anthony Fontant ruled her out of order. Although no charges were made, Deyshia Hargrave was booked for remaining after being forbidden and resisting an officer #notcool teacher definitely shouldn't be treated like this. Before her arrest, Hargrave didn't hold back standing up for her fellow colleagues saying it was "a slap in the face" that he, the superintendent, got a raise, when teachers and other staff haven't seen one in years.
