Ryan Seacrest Donates $1 Million to Coronavirus Relief Efforts

Our very own Ryan Seacrest is jumping into action in the fight against the coronavirus pandemic. In an exclusive interview with PEOPLE, Ryan shared that he is donating $1 million to help with relief efforts in New York and Los Angeles. Two of the cities that are close to his heart and that are seeing large cases of the virus. Of that million, $750,000 designated for first responders in New York.

Seacrest told PEOPLE, “New York and Los Angeles are very special places to me and so I wanted to do something in the immediate to give back in these unprecedented times. After seeing a news report about first responders sleeping in their cars in New York to avoid putting their loved ones at risk, I wanted to do something to help make sure these New Yorkers stay safe while they’re away from their families busy taking care of ours.”

Earlier this month from his home studio, Ryan gave a “shoutout” to healthcare professionals and people in the industry that continue to work from home and bring people around the world entertainment through "virtual dance parties, live performances, game shows, and more.”

He doesn't fall far back from this group, Ryan is hosting Live with Kelly and Ryan and playing great music on his KIIS FM morning radio show from home.
