Legendary Dolphin's Head Coach Don Shula Dies At 90

South Florida has lost a great soul today. Legendary head football coach for the Miami Dolphins Don Shula has passed away at the age of 90.

His legacy lives on with:

  • Most wins in NFL history (347)
  • 2x Super Bowl Champion
  • 4x Coach of the Year
  • Coached the NFL's only perfect season

Don Shula leaves behind his wife, Mary Anne, and five children; Dave, Donna, Sharon, Anne and Mike.

The team says he died this morning at his home in Miami Lakes. Shula was the coach of the undefeated 1972 Dolphins and won two Super Bowls with the team. He coached the Dolphins until 1995 and was elected into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 1997. Shula is the winningest coach in NFL history. The team said in a statement, "Don Shula was the patriarch of the Miami Dolphins for 50 years."

Don Shula's legacy will live forever. Rest in Peace, Coach.
