Sandbag Distribution In Broward And Miami-Dade

A Flood Watch is in effect for coastal Miami-Dade and a Flood Advisory for Broward. Different cities around South Florida are working on getting you ready for the heavy rain today.

If you are looking for sandbags here's a breakdown:

The city of Pembroke Pines is offering sandbags for Pembroke Pines residents only this morning starting at 7 a.m. and until 4 p.m. at Howard C. Forman Health Park and William B. Armstrong Dream Park. Residents will need to show a Pembroke Pines driver’s license or utility bill with a Pembroke Pines address. The limit is six sandbags per vehicle.

Fort Lauderdale is distributing sandbags Friday from 8 a.m. to noon. There will be a limit of 10 bags per car. You must show proof of Fort Lauderdale residency. You can them up at Mills Pond Park, located at 2201 NW 9th Ave.

City of Pompano Beach residents can go to Pompano Beach Airpark at 1660 NE 10th Street. The sandbags will be distributed on a first-come, first-served basis.

Lauderhill will be distributing sandbags at Veterans Park, located at 7600 NW 50 St., and Wolk Park, at 1080 NW 42 Way. There are self-serve sandbag stations. Proof of Lauderhill residency is required. The distribution starts at 8 a.m. and goes until 4 p.m. or until supplies last.

In Miami-Dade County, there are several spots for sandbags as well. You can stop by Grapeland Park at 1550 NW 37th Ave, Miami FL 33125 OR Little Haiti Soccer Park at 315 NE 62 Street, Miami, FL 33138. Distribution times for both parks are 7:30 a.m. – 7:30 p.m. on Friday.

Lastly, the city of Sunny Isles Beach will be distributing sandbags Friday, from 9 a.m. – 12 p.m at the William Lehman Causeway, 19160 Collins Avenue. Residents must present a valid, City-issued Sunny Isles Beach Resident ID Card. There will also be a limit of six sandbags per household.
