Let's face it, we've all been at the airport wondering around trying to find where the Uber driver is to pick us up. Well, now the app is making that part of the process way easier.
The ride company announced that they are adding step-by-step instructions in the app to guide people through the airport. These steps guide you on a smooth walk from the gate to the Uber pick-up location. I mean, this sound like half of the traveling headaches are gonna be taken away. After hours in a plane and traveling, it's a struggle to get to a new airport not knowing where things are and where to go, right?
Uber says users will see photos that display what they will be seeing in the airport as they navigate to their ride. For now, they're starting the launch with over 30 airports around the world including all three of New York City’s main airports, LAX, San Francisco International Airport, Atlanta’s Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport, and Miami International Airport.
The good news and cool features don't stop there. Uber also said that pretty soon they will release another new feature that will tell you an estimated walking time to help people more accurately plan how long it will take to get to baggage claim, and therefore when to call for an Uber ride. To top it all off, they will also roll out Uber Reserve offerings. Using this feature, you will be able to book flights, hotels and Uber rides for upcoming trips all at once. The cherry on top is that users will be able to reserve a ride up to 90 days in advance.
This new update comes in handy just in time for spring break season if you ask me.
