Jessica Simpson 'Open Book' Details Issues With Alcohol, Pills & John Mayer

"There's power in the truth."

This is what Jessica Simpson told People when detailing her redemption story while promoting her memoir, Open Book. In it, she opens up about her toxic relationship with John Mayer and how she left and never looked back after he told Playboy she was "sexual napalm."

“I was floored and embarrassed that my grandmother was actually gonna read that. A woman and how they are in bed is not something that is ever talked about. It was shocking.”

That relationship was the start of her masking her nerves and anxiety with alcohol. The last time we saw the "I Wanna Love You Forever" singer publicly intoxicated was in 2017 stumbling out of a party.

One new marriage, three children, and twice-per-week therapy are now the pillars of her redemption and she's telling it all in Open Book.
