Fort Lauderdale Says Gyms Can Open, Broward County Says Not Yet

If you're one of those "lunks" or meatheads Planet Fitness is always talking about, and you live in Fort Lauderdale, today was basically the day you've been waiting for... kinda.

According to Fort Lauderdale Mayor Dean Trantalis, gyms have the green light to open at 50% capacity with workers being screened regularly and showers remaining closed. This is interesting, however, because it goes completely against Broward County's currently standing ordinances. In a statement, the Mayor said:

“We want people to feel confident that they can return gyms and the other businesses without concern for infection. But if you don’t feel comfortable, please continue to stay home or limit your trips outside. Our plans for Monday constitute a cautious and prudent approach to reopening.”

Here's a list if things (put together by Miami Herald) that you still CANNOT do, so keep it in mid this week:

▪Get a tattoo.

▪Go to the beach.

▪Go to a movie theater. Or, live theater Unless it’s a drive-in.

▪Visit a massage parlor.

▪Quaff a beer or proper drink at a bar.

▪Move something at a nightclub.

▪Get a room at a hotel or motel.
