Miami Beach Officials Issue Over $14K In Face-Mask Violations Since July

There have been two-hundred-eighty-eight $50 fines issued in Miami Beach to people not wearing their face masks since July 23rd, according to reports. That's over a whopping total of $14,400 and counting.

By law, violators have 30 days to pay up or they can be fined an additional $500 and be charged with a misdemeanor that could result in up to 60 days in jail. Here's how they're catching people:

Body-camera footage from Miami Beach Code Compliance captured three stops from July 23, which offers a glimpse into how the city enforces its order, the newspaper reported. Each inspection began the same way, with a code officer taking a photo of the alleged violator, and then approaching to ask for ID to write the ticket.
