Just as we thought hurricane season was going to leave with a peaceful ending, we're getting hit with another one.

National Hurricane Center announced Subtropical Storm Nicole this morning. The latest forecasts indicate Nicole will be a hurricane by the time it comes ashore on the east coast of Florida late Wednesday.

This comes just nearly 6 weeks after Hurricane Ian devastated the state.

Governor Ron DeSantis even called for a state of emergency for 34 counties across the state, including Miami-Dade, Broward and Palm Beach.

A tropical storm watch is now in effect for the northwestern Bahamas as well. A Storm Surge watch was issued for areas South of Hallandale Beach to North of Ocean Reef

The weather is expected to get increasingly worse up until it makes landfall around Wednesday/Thursday. Heavy rain, winds, and flooding are also expected throughout the week.
