Broward School Board Reviews Applications For Next Superintendent

The Broward School Board reviewing applications today of the eight candidates recommended for the permanent superintendent job. Lori Alhadeff says thirty nine people applied, fifteen of them qualified and the national search company they're using has narrowed that list down. Interim Superintendent Vickie Cartwright, who has been on the job since July, is applying after the board agreed to drop a restriction against her tossing her hat in the ring. If she gets the job she will become the first female superintendent in Broward. The salary is set to be between 350-and-365-thousand-dollars a year.
