Man shoots victim in foot over loud music complaint

Fort Myers, FL - A South Florida man has been arrested for shooting someone who complained about loud music coming from the suspect’s car.

According to Fort Myers Police, 30-year-old Alex Smith was arrested in connection with the June 20th shooting that left the victim hospitalized.

Police say on June 20th, a victim was shot in the foot after asking Smith to turn down the music coming from his car in the parking lot of a Fort Myers apartment complex.

On Tuesday, Smith was arrested after detectives made a traffic stop for a vehicle matching the vehicle involved in the June 20th shooting.

Smith was taken to the Lee County Jail on charges of aggravated battery with a deadly weapon, possession of a weapon by a convicted Florida felon, driving with a suspended license and drug possession.
