A run-off election in Palm Beach County is heading to a recount.

Incumbent Boynton Beach City Commissioner Woodrow Hay led former Commissioner Mack McCray by just four votes last night.

Hay has a lead of .48 percent and automatic machine recounts are required in Florida when the difference between two candidates is at or below a half a percentage point.

Palm Beach County Supervisor of Elections Wendy Sartory Link says the recount will take place on Friday.

McCray led Hay after the March 14 municipal election when two other candidates were in the race, but he didn't get the over 50 percent to avoid a run-off.
