At first I thought this new way of sliding in the DMs was borderline messed up but then I asked around and it seems like it would definitely work!
There's a 23-year-old woman in Scotland named Rachel Brogan. And she got a message on Facebook a few days ago from a stranger that said, quote, "Hey did you hear about my grandad?"
She wrote back, "What?" And he responded, "Sorry, wrong person, meant to text a girl I went to school with but clicked on you by accident. Not thinking straight as my grandad passed away, sorry."
And then, he hit her with the "You are lovely, though. You single?"
Rachel tweeted a screenshot of the messages, and now they're going viral!
Ok so the pickup move didn't work for this guy . . . however, I asked a few women in the building what they would do if this happened to them. More than half said they would have given the guy a few more minutes of attention just because it would definitely grasp their attention and also because they're curious.
