You Can Carry A Full Turkey Onto An Airplane But Not This Thanksgiving Food

According to the TSA, you're allowed to carry on turkey, stuffing, pies, and casseroles, but not gravy, cranberry sauce, and/or mashed potatoes.

One of the busiest travel days of the year is upon us so TSA just put out a list of travel tips for Thanksgiving, including foods you can and CANNOT carry on an airplane.

If you're planning to fly with leftovers, the basic rule to remember is any solid foods are okay. But anything liquidy has to go in your checked luggage.

In other words you ARE allowed to carry on include pies, cakes, stuffing, rolls, vegetables, and casseroles. They're all considered solid foods. And yes, turkey is also fine. Even a full, un-carved Thanksgiving bird is acceptable. And frozen turkeys are okay too.

You CANNOT however carry on gravy, cranberry sauce, wine, eggnog, and any sort of jam or jelly. Mashed potatoes are also considered a non-solid food. So they have to go in your checked luggage since they are considered a "liquid"

What if it's lumpy mash potatoes? Those aren't very "liquidy"

Also no offense but if you can hijack a plane with mash potatoes and cranberry sauce I wouldn't even be mad, just straight up impressed and you can keep the whole plane if you want (joking btw)
