Miami-Dade Schools Vote To Return To In-Person Learning Starting Oct 14th

Miami-Dade County Public Schools’ board members have voted unanimously to return to in-person learning beginning in mid-October.

Miami-Dade Public School Superintendent Alberto Carvalho said he wanted students back on campus on Oct. 5, but the date was pushed back to Oct. 14 with Tuesday’s vote.

Starting on Oct 14th some students will be returning in a staggered schedule before all students return to campus by Oct. 21.

Other students would continue with virtual learning.

Although they haven't released specific dates for what grades will be returning the reopening plan would basically bring in younger students from pre-K, Kindergarten, and first grade first as well as students with disabilities.

Students in higher grade levels would return on later dates until everyone is back with 11th and 12th grade students being the last group to return.
