Vice President Mike Pence visited Florida yesterday to hold a round table with the University of Miami researchers to discuss the final-stage testing of the experimental COVID-19 vaccine.
“We want to ensure we move at a safe and effective pace. I want to assure the people of Florida and people all across this country that we will cut no corners in the development of this or any vaccine,” NBC6Miami reported.
Pence continued to explain he and the FDA Commissioner would not rush the process to approve a vaccine.
Under Miami’s phase three trial, half of volunteers would be receiving the real shot and others would receive a ‘dummy’ without being informed. NBCMiami also reported thousands of other participants are receiving the shot in other sites around the country.
