Fort Lauderdale Mayor Dean Trantalis will be joining officials from Riverwalk For Lauderdale for a ribbon cutting ceremony this Friday morning at 9 a.m. to formally dedicate a new 9-11 monument.
Never forget 9-11, 19 years ago. The statue, located on the New River south of Southwest 1 Avenue and West Las Olas will honor those who lost their lives in the terror attacks, and commemorates the ultimate sacrifices made by first responders.
Also in Monroe County, firefighters are paying tribute to first responders by holding two one-minute moments of silence for their fallen comrades. Station flags will be lowered to half-staff.
