If you grew up in Florida, then you know a lot about marine-life. In fact, some school's made you take a mandatory marine biology class.
Now more than ever, it's imperative that we clean up the water and make it safe for all animals and organisms living in it - including ourselves.
According to a report from Florida Fish and Wildlife, from January to late June there were 81 manatee deaths caused by watercraft.
That number may sound insignificant, but it's actually a big concern. There's not a lot of manatees left and even though they were removed from the endangered species list - we still should be cautious around areas where they live.
I know in Vero Beach, manatees like to stay near the very warm water near the power plant, so boats and fishing are not allowed there.
