Nothing warms my body like a nice hot cup of coffee, but nothing warms my soul more than hearing about a local coffee shop hiring people with disabilities.
'Our Grounds' is a non-profit coffee shop located in Miami that hires people with developmental disabilities and focuses on their abilities. According to their website, they provide vocational training, education, and employment opportunities to teens and adults.
In an age where acceptance is 'in', it's still hard for those with disabilities to find quality jobs that allows them to feel empowered. 'Our Ground' also uses coffee and pastries from local shops.
Although I have not yet been to Our Grounds, I will make it my personal mission to dine-in very soon.
