Don't be fooled, uplifting other women and competing against them can go hand and hand. In some cases, like sports it's literally your job to be the best, win the trophy, and earn the title. But that doesn't mean you have to be disrespectful or rude outside of that. It's just a job, not your life.
Last night after work, I was very pleased to see the clip of Naomi Osaka extending grace and compassion to Coco Gauff go viral. For one, it's not every day that we see great sportsmanship go to that length. It was beautiful. It was powerful. It was a reminder that there's room for everyone, and even though Coco did not win - she was still given the same opportunity just by competing on the hard court with Naomi.
Wouldn't it be amazing if we all acted like this to other's when they are going through a similar time? I think so. Remember, it costs zero dollars to be a kind person and to help someone when they're struggling. Cheers!
