By day it's a beautiful venue for extravagant weddings and museum tours, but by night in October you're in for a treat - the Spirits of Stranahan House Halloween Ghost Tour! As a kid you wouldn't be able to get me anywhere with ghost in the title, but in my old age ( late twenties...lol) I'm very intrigued with ghosts, spirits, and a little bit of history.
So let's start from the beginning, what is The Stranahan House and why is it so historic and important? According to their website,"The Historic Stranahan House Museum is the oldest and most historically significant home in Broward County. Home of Fort Lauderdale’s Founding Family, Frank and Ivy Stranahan, the structure served as the pioneer community’s trading post, community center, bank, and post office. Later became the Stranahan’s residence and then a boarding house, restaurant, and now a museum."
So why is it so spooky? Some people say it's because Frank Stranahan took his own life in 1929 in front of the property and still haunts the place from time to time.
But you can be the judge of that during the Spirits of Stranahan House Halloween Ghost Tour on October 25th, 31st and November 1st!
