When tragedy unfortunately strikes, it's nothing like seeing the government and community come together to help those who are being affected. The New South Wales (NSW) government is dropping tons of vegetables by helicopter to help animals who are escaping the wildfires.
In the last week they have dropped over 2,000 pounds of carrots and sweet potatoes for the animals across the region.
Authorities believe at least a half a billion animals have been impacted by the fires and that number does not include insects or frogs.
The NSW plans to continue dropping food until natural water and food resources are replenished in that area.
