Puerto Rico's Bacardi Factory Is Helping Make Hand Sanitizer!

Well there might be a shortage on your rum soon, but for good reason! Bacardi's San Juan, Puerto Rico factory is pausing their regular rum making to help make ethanol. Ethanol is one of the main ingredients in making hand sanitizer.

So far, they have made 1.7 million 10-ounce bottles of hand sanitizer which is being donated to first responders, non-profits and other companies who are on the front lines of preventing the spread of the coronavirus.

Other Bacardi factories around the country are expected to follow suit. Their Jacksonville, FL factory has already produced 120,000 bottles of hand sanitizer this week.
