The Mayor of Miami-Dade County, Carlos Giminez, is playing no games when it comes to keeping his residents safe.Yesterday, during his live press conference, he was adamant about people practicing social distancing. He said, "Six feet between people is not a suggestion. This is now the rule of law."
He's seen people around the county congregating too closely and at take-out windows there are more than 10 people in line at once.
Now, he's promising a day of action, where police officers and code enforcement will issue warnings to crack down on social distancing. If a business is given too many warnings they will be forced to shut down.
South Florida leads the state in the most positive coronavirus cases.
