Broward County has struck a deal with USPS to speed up the process on mail ballots. Instead of having mail ballots pass through the distribution center in Opa-locka, they will now be directly picked up by Broward elections workers. By doing this, it means more ballots may get to elections officials on time and they could catch errors, if any, sooner.
The USPS is obviously expecting a record number of mail ballots this year. There has been concern over whether or not the USPS can handle all of the ballots. This system will hopefully help take a load of the USPS in Broward.
