Today is National Mammography Day! Every third Friday in October we celebrate this day during Breast Cancer Awareness Month. The day was first proclaimed in 1993 by President Clinton. Women and men too, are encouraged to make an appointment for a mammogram today and all throughout the month of October to help prevent and/or catch breast cancer. It's always good practice to check, just to keep on top of your health.
Doctors also want to remind you to do regular self breast examinations to identify any changes, scheduling regular visits and annual mammograms with your healthcare provider, adhering to prescribed treatment and knowing the facts about recurrence.
