The curfew in Miami has been lifted after a judge ruled that Tootsies Cabaret, a strip club in Miami Gardens, could remain open for business past midnight. Miami-Dade officials say they can’t enforce the current curfew, from midnight to 6am, on businesses. The county has appealed. The mayor says “the curfew is unenforceable until an appeal is settled by the courts.”
The curfew being lifted helps out lots of businesses in Miami-Dade that were taking a hit financially due to the curfew. A lot of businesses say they made most of their money for the night after 10pm and into the wee hours of the morning. The curfew conflicted with the executive order from Gov. Ron DeSantis that states counties can create local rules regarding COVID, but can not prohibit people from working.
