Miami Beach is launching a new program to help out artists and re-energize the art community. “Miami Beach Open House” will help pair artists with vacant privately owned spaces to display their work. Not only does it help the artist out, but can help attract people back to the area.
Artists can begin to apply Monday to be a part of the program. A committee will help select and pair the artists with ideally free space. The mayor says he hopes the spaces will all be free, but it is up to the property owners, as well as the artist, to work out a deal.
They're hoping to have spaces up and running by December!
