City officials have asked Broward residents to reduce their water usage as crews work to clear flood water. Over the next two days, residents in Southern Broward are being asked to reduce length of showers, limit flushing of toilets, to not run the dishwasher, and to not do laundry. The Southern Regional Wastewater treatment plant is currently processing over 100-million gallons of water a day due to Eta, which is nearly double what it usually processes.
The affected cities include:
- Hollywood
- Pembroke Pines
- Dania Beach
- Hallandale Beach
- Miramar
- Pembroke Park
Pump trucks are out working to remove excess floodwater throughout all of Broward.
