Flying cars may sound like something out of the Jetsons, but it’s about to become a reality in Central Florida. The nation’s first hub for flying cars is coming to Orlando. You can book a 30-minute ride to Tampa, kind of like how you would book an Uber or Lyft!
The City of Orlando and Lillium Aviation Inc have teamed up to bring a "high-speed, electric air mobility network" by 2025. The 56,000-square-foot air taxi facility will be called a "vertiport" named after the craft's vertical take off. The cars will be all electric and seat 5 people at a time. The aircraft will be able to fly up to 186 miles within one hour of charging up.
