Parking lot dining could be here to stay even after COVID passes. A new bill in Miami-Dade could make it easier for restaurants to continue outdoor seating as long as they obtain county permits and provide the same number of parking spaces under current rules. So as long as you have parking to spare you could make it work!
Legislation sponsored by Commissioner Joe Martinez changes the county zoning code outside of city limits to permit outdoor dining in parking lots. A lot of establishments fear that people may be nervous to sit so close to other diners indoors for years to come to they're hopeful they can continue to use their parking lot seating.
