Underage scooter riders- the city of Miami is on to you. The city of Miami is temporarily suspending its motorized scooter pilot program due to underage riders. The suspension takes effect tomorrow (Wednesday December 30th). Vendors and operators currently participating in the pilot program are required to cease operations by then.
The city said in a news release that officials will be developing new safety regulations and requirements and will address recently reported incidents of underage riders.
I'll be honest- I didn't think there would be an age limit on scooters (aren't scooters for kids?) but I could understand there may be some safety issues with that. Look out for the new regulations once the scooter program is back up and running!
