Sami In Miami: Smorgasburg Miami

Since I just moved to South Florida in 2020- I haven't really been able to go out much. One- I moved in a pandemic so couldn't really go too many places and two- I had like zero friends until now lol So now that things are open again and we're all getting out and living our lives I thought I'd start a new blog. Sami In Miami! Where I got out and explore our beautiful South Florida. First things first, I had to check out Smorgasburg Miami!

I lived in New York for about ten years and one of my FAVORITE food festivals I went to almost every year was Smorgasburg in Williamsburg. They gathered some of the best local food vendors in one spot every Saturday in the fall and my boyfriend and I would just sit and eat the most incredible lobster rolls, mozzarella sticks, burgers... honestly everything... that we've ever eaten. That's why I was so excited when I heard Smorgasburg was coming to Miami! One- it felt like a little piece of my past was coming to my new home and two- I was SO excited to try some local food vendors from South Florida.

My boyfriend was visiting from New York (yes, we're long distance. That's another story for another time) this weekend and so we thought this was the perfect time to go down to Smorgasburg Miami and check it out. It's in Wynwood right outside the Wynwood Walls, which is one of our favorite places to hang out. What I love about Smorgasburg is its the largest outdoor food market- so lots of food options whether you're dairy free, gluten free, vegan, or love to eat it all! Plus we got to enjoy the beautiful day we were having in Miami outdoors.

Now the only problem I had was that I couldn't try everything. I'm not only balling on a budget here, but I mean there's only so much you can eat in one day LOL! My boyfriend and I tried to share a lot- like the french fries cooked in duck fat from Duck Season. NGL I was nervous to try these because duck fat just sounds off putting to me but they were delicious! And came by recommendation from the folks at Broad Street Oyster where I got THE MOST INCREDIBLE lobster roll.

Of course I had to try these amazing empanadas from Nadas, as well. After all this food I was so thirsty so I opted for a coconut slushy from CocoWatt which was way more hydrating than I thought it was going to be and perfect on a hot Saturday in Miami. Tasted like a vanilla milkshake, but hydrating if that makes sense!

Besides the incredible food- the atmosphere at Smorgasburg was so vibey. Live DJ, everyone sharing picnic tables with each other making new friends, bonding over incredible food. Everyone was so nice from the vendors to the other foodies. A very welcoming and inclusive environment as well. Makes for a chill Saturday in Miami with your friends or even by yourself. Can't wait to go back soon and check out the spots I missed!
