We might not have been directly hit by Hurricane Ian, but we sure still felt the effects of it last night with heavy rain, flooding, and even tornados in some areas of Broward. The storm has left thousands without power here in South Florida as Hurricane Ian impacts the west coast as a category 4 hurricane.
As of 4pm today (9/28), FPL estimates over 16,000 people are without power in Broward and over 30,000 are without power in Miami-Dade. According to the FPL website, it can't provide an estimate on when power will be restored in these areas, but teams are out working to get the power back up and running.
It can be super frustrating in times like these to lose power, but please be patient with our hard working first responders at this time and remember that if you're in a life threatening emergency to call 911. Stay safe South Florida!
