Pepsi recently discontinued Sierra Mist (RIP), but of course they weren't going to let Sprite win that easily. Nope- in fact Pepsi is coming out with a new lemon-lime soda that they're hoping will not only compete with Sprite, but will also appeal to Gen Z.
Pepsi is calling the new soft drink Starry. PepisCo’s Chief Marketing Officer says, “With one product dominating the category, consumers deserve another option. STARRY is bright, optimistic, and rooted in culture and fun.” The company plans to market it specifically to a younger generation by going with the tagline, "Starry hits different."
Guess I'll have to try it to make sure they... understood the assignment 😉
