Aarhus University researchers examined over 200,000 songs from almost 1,000 sleep-related playlists across music streaming services.
The researchers observed that individuals fell asleep to familiar, upbeat, and slower instrumental music with minimum sounds and a relaxing effect.
The research also found that BTS' "Dynamite" and Billie Eilish and Khalid's duet "Lovely" assist people in falling asleep just as effectively as soundscapes (aka things like white noise, thunderstorms, beach waves and meditative music).
I can't imagine falling asleep to anything with lyrics in it, especially to bops from BTS or Billie Eilish! Maybe if I'm really really really tired...
