Harry Styles was on a high after winning Album of the Year at this year’s Grammys ceremony, but his controversial acceptance speech has him initiating a little damage control...
“This doesn’t happen to people like me very often,” He stated after his album "Harry's House" took home the night's most prestigious honor.
Because white men tend to receive recognition from the Grammys quite frequently, the line immediately provoked outrage online.
But, he appeared to rectify his path by being as humble as he could when he won Artist of the Year at the BRIT Awards on Saturday.
“I’m really, really grateful for this, and I’m very aware of my privilege up here tonight,” he course-corrected before shouting out a few female artists who were snubbed for the award, like Rina Sawayama, Charli XCX, Mabel, Florence + the Machine and Becky Hill.
