Fort Lauderdale Beach A1A Pedestrian Lane

While the Fort Lauderdale beach remains shut-down, local police did close one of the the northbound traffic lanes on A1A to expand the bike-lane area, creating new space for pedestrians to walk, cycle and roller-blade this weekend.

The eastern lane of A1A is closed to traffic from Las Olas to Sunrise, which gives pedestrians a lot more room to practice safe social distancing during the coronavirus pandemic.

The lane closure will be in effect until 7pm Sunday.

Also observed, there are several bars and restaurants open with take-out options for both food and beverages on the south end of the beach strip, near Las Olas.
