Florida COVID-19 Daily Cases Break Record

Today Florida reported over 10,000 new cases of Coronavirus for the first time, breaking single-day records for the spread of the COVID-19. The Florida Department of Health reports official numbers are as high as 10,109 - bringing state totals to 169,106.

Here is the breakdown by county, with the majority being in South Florida:

Miami-Dade County was at the top with the most cases and deaths, with a reported 2,304 cases and 18 new deaths. Miami-Dade now has 40,265 confirmed cases and 1,018 deaths total. Then, Broward County reported 961 new cases of COVID-19 plus 9 new deaths. They now have 17,116 known cases and 394 deaths. Palm Beach County reported 412 additional cases plus 11 new deaths.

Beaches in the three county's in South Florida will remain closed for the 4th of July Long weekend.
