These stories warm your heart! Miami-Dade County Public Schools are making sure that students don't go hungry over the upcoming Winter Break, as students will be off for two weeks starting next Monday December 21st.
Over 40,000 students are in need this holiday season, and M-DCPS has made plans to distribute approximately one million meals to families to ensure that students have food security over the two-week Winter Recess. Arrangements have been made at select schools, based on the number of students within the school who receive free/reduced-price meal benefits. Some families will be receiving items that equate to 12 breakfast and 12 lunch meals per student, according to USDA requirements.
