Buckingham Palace confirmed Friday that Prince Harry and his wife, Meghan Markle, will not be returning to their royal duties. We expected this might happen after the couple stepped away from their royal duties in March of 2020, but now the palace has made the split from the Royal family official.
The statement says the couple known as the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, "will not be returning as working members of the Royal Family". Harry, 36, will also lose his appointment as captain general of the Royal Marines and the title will revert to the Queen before being given to other working members of the Royal Family.
The couple recently announced they are expecting their second baby this Spring, and they are ready to tell their story to friend and neighbor, Oprah Winfrey in a prime-time TV special on CBS March 7th.
